Dr. McKenzie Goodine
Dr. McKenzie Goodine is registered to provide services to children and adolescents with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) with a specialization in School and Clinical Psychology. She is also in the process of seeking registration with the CPO to work with adults and currently provides services to adults under the supervision of Dr. Kim Edwards, C.Psych.
Training/Work Experience: After receiving her Ph.D. from Western University in London, Ontario, Dr. Goodine completed a 1-year clinical residency, followed by her supervised practice year in a clinic specializing in supporting individuals with a variety of neuropsychiatric disorders including ADHD, OCD, Learning Disabilities, Anxiety, and Tourette Syndrome. During her training, Dr. Goodine has worked in various settings including community clinics, schools, university training clinics, and private practice.
Presenting Concerns: Dr. Goodine is passionate about providing assessments and treatment for children, adolescents, and adults with the following presenting concerns including:
- Anxiety
- ADHD
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Tic Disorders/Tourette Syndrome
- Depression
- Body-focused repetitive behaviours
- Low mood/low self-esteem
- Adjustment to major life changes
- Emotion regulation/behavioural challenges
- Somatic symptoms/functional neurological symptoms, and chronic pain
Approach: Dr. Goodine provides a space that is calm, empathic, structured, and goal-oriented. Dr. Goodine draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Collaborative Problem Solving, Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Outside of MindFit: When she’s not at work, Dr. Goodine loves spending time outside with her husband and two dogs. She also enjoys traveling and hanging out at her cottage!
