Angie Caruso
Angie Caruso is a registered dietitian providing services to children, adolescents and adults with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
Training/Work Experience: Angie completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (with honours) at Toronto Metropolitan University (previously Ryerson), with a minor in marketing. She then went on to complete a one-year intensive dietetic internship at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto. Angie worked in the cardiac critical care unit at SickKids where she provided nutritional support for babies, kids and teens through a multidisciplinary lens. She also worked in the outpatient family care clinic at Trillium Health Partners supporting kids with a variety of nutritional concerns. She’s completed training with the Ellyn Satter Institute and the SOS Approach to Feeding to support families with picky/selective eaters.
Angie also worked at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga, working in an outpatient setting with adults with acute and chronic conditions such as gestational diabetes, diabetes, heart failure, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and more. She also is a Certified Diabetes Educator.
Presenting Concerns: Angie helps members with various nutritional needs and goals and provides personalized nutrition plans where appropriate. She has food allergies and intolerances and understands the challenges that come along with this. Some of her nutritional services include:

Approach: Angie collaborates closely with clients to create personalized, achievable goals that fit their unique needs (including social determinants of health), culture and lifestyle. Her approach to nutrition is evidence-based, nonjudgmental (no food policing here!), focusing on balance and well-being without relying on counting calories and knowing that all foods fit.
Outside of MindFit: Angie loves to spend time with her family watching movies with the family dog snuggled in. She enjoys and uses exercise as one tool to manage her anxiety disorder and OCD. Looking for new recipes to cook and bake are a passion, but she enjoys the breaks from cooking too!
