Dr. Sandra Newton

Clinical and School Psychologist

Sandra Newton, Ph.D., is a Clinical and School Psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Newton provides services to children, adolescents, and parents/caregivers.

Training/Work Experience: Dr. Newton completed her graduate training in Developmental Psychology and Education (Master’s) and School and Clinical Psychology (Doctorate) at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at The University of Toronto. She has worked in a variety of settings, including The Hospital for Sick Children and The Toronto District School Board.

Presenting Concerns: Dr. Newton supports children, adolescents, parents/caregivers, and adults with anxiety, ADHD, behavioural challenges, Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors, tics, low mood, self-esteem, sleep challenges, and social skill difficulties.

Approach: Dr. Newton uses a variety of evidence-based techniques (including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and executive-functioning interventions) in her work.

Outside of MindFit: Dr. Newton enjoys spending time with family and friends, connecting to community, and taking in all that’s new in books, podcasts, and film
