Heather Senst
Heather Senst is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) who provides support to children, adolescents, and adults under the supervision of Dr. Kim Edwards, C.Psych.
Training/Work Experience: Heather completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with high honours/distinction, at Yorkville University. Heather was formerly a Vice President, Creative Head of a major media company and decided to change direction and focus on mental health after supporting a family member with mental health challenges.
Presenting Concerns: Heather works with children, adolescents, adults, and parents facing a wide range of challenges including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Body-focused repetitive behaviours (e.g., hair pulling, skin-picking)
- Low mood/low self-esteem
- ADHD/Executive functioning challenges
- Adjustment to major life changes
- Emotion regulation/behavioural challenges
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Misophonia
Approach: Heather uses a warm, collaborative, evidence-based, and strengths-based approach to her work. Heather strives to foster a safe and supportive space to allow Members (patients/clients) to work on their individual goals and develop skills and strategies to get and stay in emotional shape
Outside of MindFit: Outside of her work at MindFit, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing various sports (including tennis), finding new restaurants, traveling, reading, and attending comedy shows. She is the author of the book “Change” exploring one of life’s greatest challenges.
