Counselor

Jenna is a counselor who provides services to children, adolescents, families, and adults under the supervision of Dr. Kim Edwards, C.Psych. She is passionate about providing Members (patients) with evidence-based, strength-focused tools and strategies.

Training/Work Experience: Jenna graduated from the Child and Youth Work program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. She continued her education at the University of Western Ontario with courses in Psychology, Social Work and Disabilities Studies. In 2014 Jenna was certified in Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT) and since then has treated hundreds of youth with tics and related disorders across Southwestern Ontario in both individual and group formats. Jenna has presented at national and international conferences, and consults to various mental health agencies. Prior to working with neurodevelopmental disorders, Jenna worked in various mental health settings including inpatient units and community agencies.

Presenting Concerns: Jenna has significant experience supporting individuals with the following concerns:

  • Tic Disorders/Tourette Syndrome
  • Anxiety
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Behavioural Challenges

She also has a wealth of experience supporting families with school consultations/education to teachers.

Approach: Jenna uses evidence-based approaches to help Members reach their full potential. Jenna incorporates engaging activities in her MindFit and believes these should be enjoyable and fun! She is also passionate about incorporating self-esteem and self-advocacy skills in the programs that she offers.

Outside of MindFit: In her spare time, Jenna stays busy by enjoying the outdoors – anything by the water! Kayaking, boating and fishing are a few of her favourite activities!
