Kate Lee
Kate Lee is currently a Ph.D student in the Clinical-Developmental Psychology program at York University. Kate provides services to children, adolescents, and caregivers under the supervision of Dr. Megan Hancock, C.Psych and Dr. Kim Edwards, C.Psych.
Training/Work Experience: Kate is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Clinical-Developmental Psychology at York University. Her graduate clinical training consists of completing comprehensive assessments with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), as well as providing treatment for youth in the Tics and Tourette Clinic at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sick Kids). Part-time, Kate collaborates with a non-profit organization, delivering evidence-based workshops aimed at enhancing social-emotional health for youth, parents, and educators. Kate’s graduate research interests encompass parenting, emotion regulation, resilience, and well-being.
Presenting Concerns: Kate sees children and adolescents with tics, body-focused repetitive behaviours (BFRBs, e.g., skin-picking, hair pulling), anxiety, OCD, and self-regulation. She also supports caregivers to provide them with tools to support their child at home.
Approach: Kate uses evidence-based techniques (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics) and embraces a client-centered approach. She collaborates closely with Members, empowering them to actively participate in their journey towards mental wellness.
Outside of MindFit: Kate enjoys pottery, spending time with her cat, Meeko, and doing hot yoga.
