Kelsey Donald
Kelsey Donald is registered psychotherapist (qualifying) who provides support to children, adolescents, and adults under the supervision of Dr. Kim Edwards, C.Psych.
Training/Work Experience: After completing her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, Kelsey completed a post-graduate program in Addictions and Mental Health at Durham College. Kelsey most recently completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University. Kelsey has trained in a variety of settings including Minden Hospital, Point in Time Centre for Children, Youth and Families, and Haliburton Youth and Wellness Hub.
Presenting Concerns: Kelsey works with adolescents and adults facing a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, body-focused repetitive behaviours (e.g., skin-picking), low mood/depression, emotion-regulation challenges, low self-esteem, adjustement to major life changes, and interpersonal challenges.
Approach: Kelsey uses a warm, collaborative, evidence-based, and strengths-based approach to her work. Kelsey draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Outside of MindFit: Outside of her work at MindFit, Kelsey enjoys spending time outside with her dog in the forest or by the water, refinishing furniture, and going on road trips!
