Social Worker

Laura Wilchesky is a Registered Social Worker (MSW). Laura provides services to children, adolescents, and families.

Training/Work Experience: Laura completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto and has worked in a variety of settings including children’s mental health agencies, schools, counseling centers and camps.

Presenting Concerns: She has significant expertise in a broad range of child and adolescent challenges including anxiety, low mood, emotion dysregulation, ADHD, tics/Tourette syndrome, body-focused repetitive behaviours, and coping with stress.

Approach: Laura uses a strength-based, client-centered approach, using a variety of modalities (including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness Techniques) in her work.

Outside of MindFit, Laura is a new mom to a little one! She also enjoys playing ultimate frisbee and basketball, travelling and spending time with her four little nieces!
