Social Worker

Leah is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

Training/Work Experience: Leah completed her Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto and has worked at several Family Health Teams and a Family Service Agency. In addition to working at Mindfit, Leah is part of the Health and Wellness team at the University of Toronto.

Presenting Concerns: Leah works with individuals experiencing a variety of concerns including:

  • anxiety
  • depression/low mood
  • stress/burnout
  • school/work
  • adjustments/life transitions
  • relationships, and insomnia

Approach: Leah uses an evidence-based approach that is non-judgmental and client centered. Her approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. She uses an integrative approach that typically incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy as well as elements of acceptance commitment therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, self-compassion, and mindfulness. Her goal is to provide you with tools that can help you make changes that have a positive impact on your wellbeing and day-to-day functioning.

Outside of MindFit: Leah enjoys cooking, baking, swimming, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends
